Dolls for Alzheimer Patients

Connecting with Alzheimer Patients

The Inner Wheel Club of Waterkloof are continuing with the “Dolls for Alzheimer Patients” Project, and with the hard work continually undertaken by Annekie Brink and her team, it is possible to search a wider field for recipients of these beautiful dolls.

The Inner Wheel Club of Waterkloof ladies recently delivered dolls to Princess Christian Home in Pretoria. The Princess Christian Home offers assisted living accommodation and specialises in Dementia care, frail care  and
memory care.

The Inner Wheel Club of Waterkloof wish to thank all who have donated dolls just waiting for cuddles.

A doll can provide comfort and therapeutic benefits for Alzheimer’s patients by evoking positive memories and emotions. The familiar presence of a doll offers companionship, reducing feelings of loneliness and anxiety. Tactile engagement with the doll stimulates sensory responses, fostering a sense of connection and providing a source of joy amidst cognitive challenges.

Second hand dolls are collected, cleaned, brushed, dressed and wrapped in a snuggly blanket before being presented to their appreciative new owners.
